  1. With harnesses on their hips, hardhats on their heads and rope in their hands, soldiers participating in air assault school rappelled off towers at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
  2. About 1,000 seniors at the U.S. Air Force Academy took a significant step forward in their future roles as officers during Firstie Flag — an exercise to prepare them for potential conflicts with a great power adversary.
  3. Marines and sailors built shelters, made fires and trekked through Arctic terrain in Setermoen, Norway, as part of cold weather training to prepare for Nordic Response, a NATO exercise and part of the larger Steadfast Defender series.
  4. Soldiers assigned to the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as "The Old Guard," didn't let a little snow keep them from guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, Va.
  5. Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific region.
